A system that's short-cycling, tripping breakers, or throwing an error code isn't something to fix by trial and error. We test capacitors, contactors, and refrigerant pressure before recommending a single part, on every East Berne call.
The overwhelming majority of Hvac Repair visits come down to one of a handful of usual suspects: capacitors, contactors, control boards. We check all of them with a meter before quoting anything, which is the difference between a $150 fix and an unnecessary $1,500 one, and we'd rather find the $150 answer.
Standards that hold on every call, no exceptions.
Licensing, EPA certification, and insurance travel with every technician we send — we don't outsource this work.
Because we stage trucks close to East Berne, most calls land a same-day or next-morning window instead of a week-long wait.
The number we quote is the number on the invoice, agreed to upfront.
Every truck carries manifold gauges, amp clamps, and combustion analyzers, so the fault gets measured, not assumed.
The repairs behind most of our service calls.
The first move is isolating exactly which of these failed: capacitor, contactor, thermostat call, or charge level.
Most no-start situations trace to a bad capacitor, and we confirm it with an actual meter reading before replacing anything.
Weak airflow paired with a burning odor almost always points to the blower motor, and we test the windings before recommending replacement.
What looks like a major failure is sometimes a $200 control issue, and we rule these out before quoting anything larger.
Electronic detectors and UV dye find the actual leak point, instead of just topping off refrigerant and hoping, because a top-off without finding the source only buys a few weeks.
Ignitor resistance, flame sensor microamp signal, and gas valve response all get tested before a furnace gets condemned, since a dirty flame sensor is a five-minute fix, not a new furnace.
Four steps, start to finish.

Unedited feedback from our East Berne customers.
Breaker kept popping every time the blower kicked on. Turned out to be a shorted wire nobody had caught in two prior visits from other companies.
— N. Okafor, homeowner
Appreciated getting a text with a two-hour window instead of the usual 'sometime this afternoon.' Tech was right on time.
— V. Delgado, property manager
System was cycling on and off every few minutes. They traced it to a thermostat wiring issue, not the compressor everyone assumed it was.
— L. Whitfield, homeowner
Third HVAC company we've tried for our small office building. First one to actually pull a service history instead of starting from zero each visit.
